POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS (General for All Fillers)

1. Expect Swelling and Bruising: Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is normal and typically subsides within 3-7 days. Apply a cool compress (not ice directly) for 10 minutes every hour if needed.
2. Avoid Pressure: For 48 hours, avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to treated areas (e.g., no massages, tight glasses, or sleeping face-down).
3. Limit Strenuous Activity: For 24-48 hours, avoid heavy exercise, saunas, or hot environments to reduce swelling.
4. Skincare Precautions: For 24 hours, avoid harsh products (e.g., retinols, acids) and direct sun exposure. Use gentle cleansers and sunscreen (SPF 30+).
5. Avoid Blood Thinners: For 48 hours, skip alcohol, aspirin, or ibuprofen to minimize bruising risk, unless medically necessary. 
6. Stay Upright: For 4-6 hours post-treatment, avoid lying down or bending over excessively to prevent filler migration.
7. Follow-Up: Results are immediate but may settle over 1-2 weeks. Contact us if you notice asymmetry, lumps, or persistent swelling. Schedule a follow-up if needed.
8. Future Treatments: Wait at least 2 weeks before lasers, facials, or additional fillers, and consult us before dissolving fillers.

SPECIAL POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIP FILLERS

Lip fillers require extra care to prevent infection, migration, or complications. Follow these specific guidelines:

1. Keep Lips Clean for 3 Days: 
   • Use only clean, new lip products (e.g., balm, gloss) to avoid contamination. Do not use previously opened or used liquid lip gloss, lipstick, or balms, as these may harbor bacteria.
   • Avoid kissing animals (e.g., pets) or sharing items that touch your lips (e.g., drinks, utensils) to reduce infection risk.
   • Apply lip products with a clean, disposable lip applicator or freshly washed hands. Do not use fingers or shared brushes.

1. Stay Hydrated: Keep lips well-hydrated with a clean, fragrance-free lip balm (e.g., Aquaphor, Vaseline) applied frequently to prevent dryness and promote healing.
2. Avoid Dirty Water: For 3 days, do not swim in lakes, rivers, or other potentially contaminated waters, as these can introduce bacteria to injection sites.
3. No Heavy Sucking: For 3 days, avoid activities that involve heavy sucking, as these can cause filler migration: 
   • Do not use straws, sippy cups, or engage in heavy vaping.
   • Avoid intense kissing or other activities that create strong suction pressure on the lips.

1. Be Gentle: For 48 hours, avoid aggressive lip movements (e.g., chewing hard foods, exaggerated expressions) to allow the filler to settle.
2. Monitor for Issues: Contact us immediately if you notice signs of infection (e.g., excessive redness, warmth, or pus), severe swelling, or discoloration, as these may require urgent attention.
